Bali Hot Spots

bali holiday tipsOur marketing dream team is visiting Bali in a few weeks for ‘inspiration’ so they collected some Bali hot spots from staff, friends and guests from all over the world…. And off course the Amstel House is always happy to share …

SEMINYAK AREA
Not the real Bali / Indonesia and more touristy by the day but still nice for a couple of days (and sooo much nicer than party tourist ghetto Kuta!). Seminyak has nice shops, clubs and restaurants.

Potatoe head: Nice food and drinks, at the beach. Pricey and touristy but cool place and nice swimming pool at the beach front.
Kudeta bar: right at the beach. Like Potatoe Head, pricey and touristy but still a good vibe and great music for a Friday night drinks or lunch with friends.
La Plancha (at Double 6): local hangout, great for after beach drinks and beach parties
Batu Bolong: perfect little down to earth beach club to wind down with some corona’s after surfing
Echo Beach: great for surfing and lunch / drinks

High(er) end food:
Sardine: Yummie French food, romantic, overlooking the rice fields. Nice for lunch and dinner!
Metis: Yummie, stunning views. Also good for lunch and dinner.
Mamasan: Affordable but nice food, also nice for Friday drinks
Ryoshi Sushi: yummy sushi and live jazz every Monday, Wednesday, Friday
La Luciola: nice styling and great food.

Affordable:

Warung Melati (Double 6 Street): best Indonesian food
Biku: nice interior, healthy food
Queen Tantoori: yummie Indian foor, less atmosphere

BUKIT
Beautiful white beaches south of Seminyak. Nice if you’re in for a little romance or want to kick back for some surf or yoga lessons. Sleeping at Mu-Bali is paradise. It’s run by a French guy who cooks for all his guests at night at a big table. Great conversations with other inspiring guests! You can sleep here in a double room from $55 pp per night.

High(er) End
Finns Beach Club: lounge in style at this beautiful beach club overlooking the beach
Nammos Beach Club: go down in a cable cart to this magnificent beach

Affordable
Padang Padang: Eat Pray Love beach
Balangan Beach: nice surfers / hippie beach

UBUD
Ubud is famous for its stunning views and (bike) tours through endless rice fields, temples, Ubud Market, Monkey Forest and the overall relaxing atmosphere. You can do several tours, climb vulcano’s in the early morning and chill with a nice massage or yoga session in the afternoon. A cute affordable hotel in Ubud is Ketuts Place.

NORTH BALI
If you’re into diving and snorkeling, be sure to pay Menjangan Island a visit! And you can spot dolphins (go outside the rush hour!) from Lovina. Soedaij is a cute little village where you can do meditation.
